Summer is a time of coming together to be with friends and family and share in simple pleasures.  It is a time to be and eat outside.  Eating outside under the sky helps our assimilation, as well as consuming foods that have a bitter flavor.  It is a time in which foods and friends contribute to our tranquility so our spirits can be nourished.  Qi, blood circulation and quality are enhanced as we become more active.  The heart and the small intestines are supported with summer foods.
