Cabble

(Cabbage and Apples)
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or
Steam on stove top for 30 minutes

Preparation:

1 large head cabbage (purple is pretty) sliced finely
3–4 apples cut into bite size pieces

To Steam:

  1. Place cabbage in a large pan with lid with apples on top.
  2. Add one cup of water.
(Can add 1/2 cup plum or cider vinegar to the 1 cup of water to preserve cabbage color.)
  3. After bringing water to a boil:  Simmer with medium heat on stovetop for 30 minutes until cabbage is tender. (Check water to make sure it does not disappear, add more if needed to prevent cabbage from sticking)

To Bake:

  1. Oil a large lidded baking dish.  (Do not oil cover unless cabbage touches it.)
  2. Place cabbage inside a lidded, oiled (olive) baking dish.  Place apples on top.
  3. Add one cup of water.
(Can add 1/2 cup plum or cider vinegar to the 1 cup of water to preserve cabbage color.)
