The change of season is roughly: Jan 20 – Feb 3; Apr 20 – May 5; Jul 23- Aug 7; Oct. 24- Nov 7, when the energy shifts from one season to the next. In America, the most acknowledged seasonal change is referred to as Indian summer when the largest harvest occurs. During these times, our digestion needs the most support as we adjust to the next season. Foods that help the spleen/pancreas and stomach and have a somewhat sweet flavor, help us to ground and adapt, allow us to feel nourished, balanced, satisfied. It is a time of strengthening and balancing the blood, muscles, fascia, emotions with specific foods.
